Accessing the RC Willey VPN (GlobalProtect) on a Mac
In order to access the Willey system or your desktop from home, you will need to install the GlobalProtect VPN client. This client allows your home computer, phone or tablet to become a part of the corporate network. Once you connect, you can access the Willey system or your desktop as if you were in the office.
Download and Install the Global Protect VPN Client for Mac OS
You’ll only have to follow the download steps in this section once.
Before Starting, make sure you are disconnected from the Cisco Anyconnect VPN Software.
1. Go to slcpalo.rcwilley.com. You will then be asked for your Microsoft email address. Type your email address and click “Next.”
2. You will then be asked for your Microsoft password. Type your password and click “Sign In.”
3. You will be asked to approve the sign in request using your Microsoft Authenticator app. Open the Microsoft authenticator app on your phone, and type the number on your computer screen into the window that comes up in your app.
4. On the paloalto page that comes up, click on the appropriate agent download link. NOTE: For Mac users this will be: “Download Mac 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent.”
5. Once the software finishes downloading, click on the newly downloaded file to run the installer. On the Introduction page of the installer, click “Continue.”
6. On the Destination Select screen, click to select the installation location for the GlobalProtect App (this will usually be the Macintosh HD). Then click “Continue.”
7. On the Installation Type Page, select “GlobalProtect” (the first checkbox), and then click “Continue.”
8. On the Installation Page, click “Install.” You will then be prompted for your username and password. Type these in, and then click “Install Software.”
9. Once the installation is complete, close the installer.
Connecting to the RC Willey VPN (GlobalProtect)
This is the process you will follow any time you need to connect to the RC Willey VPN on your Mac moving forward.
1. Launch the Global Protect App by clicking on the globe icon in the menu bar at the top right of your screen.
2. In the field provided, put slcpalo.rcwilley.com. Then click “Connect.”
3. The program will say that it is connecting, then a new window will pop up. In the new window you will be prompted for your Microsoft email address and your password after clicking “Next.” Then Click “Sign In.” (Make sure to put your email address and password, rather than the email address in the screen shot)
4. You will be asked to approve the sign in request using your Microsoft Authenticator app. Open the Microsoft authenticator app on your phone, and type the number on your computer screen into the window that comes up in your app.
5. After approving the sign in through the Authenticator app, you should get the message that you are connected. This means you have successfully connected to the VPN and can now access the RC Willey network.
6. You're connected and ready to work! You can connect to any RC Willey systems you normally have access to.
When you're finished, you can click "Disconnect." otherwise, you'll be disconnected after 10 hours.
